There are 220 Corbetts in Scotland, which are the hills between 2500 feet and 2999 feet, first collated by John Rooke Corbett, a member of the Scottish Mountaineering Club.
Park at N57 07.617 W002 58.598. If you have a look at the hill you'll see an obvious path leading up around the left (south) side of it. That's the longer easier route mentioned later.
Go through the gate and across the field up to the deserted farmhouse called Balhennie. Cross the stile and then go through the gate. You've now got a choice of two different routes.
The first is to follow the obvious path mention earlier. It turns from a path to a landrover track (it isn't fully shown on current OS maps). Just keep following it up and round to the right - so long as you don't turn off to the left you'll get there eventually!
Alternatively you can head up a much shorter, but much steeper, route. This isn't nearly so clear - from the gate head kind of right (north), basically going straight up the hill. A small stalker's path is what you're looking for.
The two different routes meet up on a spur below the final climb to the summit.
The cache itself is located to the south of the summit, in a place where hopefully you won't get spotted!
The usual warnings apply to this walk. Even in summer make sure you've got your compass, map, spare batteries, waterproofs, gloves and a hat. Take plenty of food and water. Let someone know where you're going and let them know when you return. Check the forecast but don't rely on it. Don't do it in winter unless you really know what you're doing. If you do decide to take the steeper route then take care, and if you're coming down this way then walking poles are highly recommended!
