This is a low impact cache - it is a test cache for an idea I had for placing caches in areas (such as national parks)that frown on traditional caches. I have started a thread so you can add your opinion about this type of cache here.
The cache itself has no log book or items to exchange - in that sense it is very like a virtual cache but with one exception. There is a small rock pile. The rocks are crushed white stones about .75-2" each. The pile itself is maybe 6-8" in diameter.
What I ask is when you go for this cache you bring at least one white stone about that size to leave in the pile - don't use a smooth stone as this is a beach area and most stones are smooth. If you can't find a white one bring the closest one you can find and place it along side the pile instead of in the pile - but no (zero, zilch, nada) smooth stones please.
The cache is off the greenbelt trail and easier to get to if you have good balance. Suggested parking at Sunken Meadow (fee) or Smithtown residence can park at the marina at the east end of the park and get a little closer.
The spoiler (cheat) contains nothing more to help you find the cache.
If you must post the waypoint you got at my cache go ahead but DON'T post any waypoint using WAAS please - no WAAS waypoints on my geocache page please encrypted or not. If you have a WAAS unit and have to take a waypoint so you can post it - please turn WAAS off and get the waypoint that way.
