Geocache Description:

This is a road side cache. Container is a small Tupperware and do not allow a lot to trade. Cache contains a stash note, pencil, logbook and stickers. Container is in black plastic bag.

The cache is unfortunately not close or at the bridge but you can view the bridge from a distance. It is a sand stone bridge dating back to 1897 that crosses the Komati River and it is a national monument but access is a huge problem. It is now situated on private property. You can truly call this bridge a bridge to nowhere. This bridge shares the history with the cache called “Hamlet of Bonnefoi”. Many moons ago this was the access road to Nelspruit and Mozambique. This road also passes Bonnefoi. Both the bridge and Bonnefoi was lost in time when new towns were built with new access roads.

Also be aware of the fence next to the cache. This fence was electrified at a stage but it is non functional at present, however treat it as if it is alive. Do not touch the fence. The cache is on public grounds. Yes, as normal be careful when you move stones.
