Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches in and around the town of Wallingford. The well known crime writer Agatha Christie owned a house in the town and spent her later years there. All the caches in this series are named after her books or stories in them.

The village of Benson has a lot of triangular islands at road junctions with clues suitable for a multicache, so the title of this cache should perhaps by Triangle in Roads but Agatha Christie didn't write that....! This cache is fully accessible but parents with small children will need to take care as there is a lot of walking on footpaths with traffic close by. The cache clues have been updated (September 2019) to reflect the loss of one of the triangles due to a new development of houses, and to relocate the cache to a safer location (but sadly this has meant it is now a large micro) Anyway on to the task in hand. The above coordinates are for a good place to park. It's across the road from one of the Fleetwinders favourite riverside eateries - why not reward yourself when you've completed the cache! Next you will need to find the church, and more particularly the clock on the tower. Look VERY carefully and work out which number is missing (you will need to translate from the roman numerals). That number is A. Continue along the road to the first triangle. This one has the village war memorial on it which has won a number of awards. Add together the digits of the first year it won the award and the last year it won, along with the number of times it has won. The total (which should be a 2-digit number) is B. Soon you are in the heart of the old village with former coaching houses on two sides. In front of the old Castle Inn is another triangle with a finger post sign. C = (Ewelme x Dorchester x Britwell) + Watlington + 1. Follow the B road, passing the tennis courts on your left and you will reach the final clues at a plot of land called The Triangle! On the western side of The Triangle is a plaque recording when Mr Aldridge presented the land to the Parish – 197D There are seats here so you can rest whilst working out the cache location, which is at N51 37.CD W001 06.AB. The cache is a camo'd micro From the cache location, continue southeast back to the parking spot.
