NOTE: The cache has been a popular one! I haven't been able to return to it as quickly as I had hoped, so if someone is able, would you drop in another notepad for logs? I hope to be up that way shortly, and I'll gather the old log book and try to record some of the logs here (as images or something.) Thank you!
At the top of the pass, there are trails that head off across the ridgeline, with a view into Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The cache is located less than 600 feet down the trail. The cache is in a small ammo box.
The original contents of the cache are:
- A log book and pens
- An emergency blanket
- Insect repellant
- Solar calculator
- Small pocket knife
- Safari tattoo
- "Life's Little Instruction Book - Volume II"
- Word search book
- Green gel marker
- Key chain
After finding this one, the trails provide a good hike and great views!
Also, there is a place on the Victor, Idaho side of the pass at coords N 43 36.211, W 111 06.691 that serves great huckleberry shakes! Good for an "after the hike" treat! (A place called the Emporium, next to a place most southeastern Idahoan's know well...)
