Geocache Description:

SHAWNEE TWIN LAKES CACHE

For central Oklahoma, this is the quintessential prairie landscape. A lot of people think of the big Bluestem at 7 or 8 feet tall, I think of the more modest Little bluestem with it's coppery fall color.

Parking is at the end of the road and approved by the local LE as is access. Use the trail I plotted to avoid what little blackberry is growing in the field. You may see coyote, cottontail rabbit, turtle, armadillo and a myriad of birds anywhere in this field of mixed grass prairie. Bring the kids for this one. You're going after an ammo can with lots of kid goodies and an custom FTF ID tag for that First To Find memorial you have in your living room. There is a bit of green briar around the cache, but I didn't find any grass burrs. Other than the lake, I doubt this area has changed much in the last 100 years. If you're in the area at sunset, you should have a great view.
