All'estremità orientale della Liguria, tra il golfo di La Spezia e
la foce del Magra, si protende in mare il promontorio del Caprione,
le cui alte coste a falesia sono interrotte dalle insenature in cui
sorgono i paesi di Fiascherino e Tellaro. Sulla sommità, in
posizione dominante, c'è l'antico borgo di Montemarcello. E' un
tipico borgo ligure, arroccato e con una struttura concentrica che
ricorda l’antico "castrum", da cui trasse origine. Deve il suo nome
al Console Marcello, che, con base a Lunae, sconfisse le ultime
resistenze dei Liguri. Lasciando l'auto nel parcheggio (gratis)
antistante il paese, si prende una stradina pedonale seguendo
l'indicazione "Punta Corvo". Dopo poche centinaia di metri si
arriva alla "punta", dove il panorama è semplicemente stupendo! E'
il punto migliore per vedere il golfo della Spezia con le due
isole. Meglio d'inverno con le nuvole e, se sereno, al tramonto. La
recinzione è stata messa perchè questo era uno dei punti preferiti
dai suicidi. Per andare verso la cache, deviare poco prima della
Punta per il sentiero "CAI 4C direzione Bocca di Magra" . Lasciate
le case, il sentiero è costeggiato sulla sinistra da un muro. La
cache è nel muro, poco prima che questo finisca. Questo sentiero è
usato da molti trackers, per cui chiediamo di nascondere bene la
cache. Riutilizzare le stesse pietre (capirete perchè)! Al ritorno,
consigliamo di scendere verso Bocca di Magra con un occhio che
guarda a destra: avrete la miglior vista della bocca di Magra col
le Apuane. At the east end of Liguria, between the gulf of La
Spezia and the estuary of Magra (Bocca di Magra), the promontory of
Caprione stretchs on the sea. Its high cliffs are interrupted by
two inlets with the villages of Fiascherino e Tellaro. On the hit,
in dominant position, there is the old village of Montemarcello
(literally mount of Marcello). It is a typical ligurian village,
with a circular structure that remembers the original roman
"castrum". The name was given in glory of the roman "console
Marcello" that, based in Lunae, vanquished permanently the last
resistance of Ligurians. Leave your car at the parking (free) in
front of the village and follow the signalling to "PUNTA CORVO".
There is a pedestrian road, between small houses. After few hundred
meters, you will arrive at the "Punta" where the landscape is
simply wonderful! This is the best point to see the La Spezia gulf
with the two islands. Best during winter when cloudy or, if clear,
at the sunset. The enclosure was built because this place was
preferred by the suicidal. To find the cache, on the pedestrian
road, before the "Punta", take the track on the left: CAI 4C to
Bocca di Magra. After the last houses, the track has a stone wall
on the left. The cache is IN the wall, few meters before its end.
This track is used by many trackers, please well hide back the
cache. Reuse the same stones for hiding (you will understand why)!
After the visit, we advise you go by car to Bocca di Magra: there
is the best and unique landscape of the estuary with the Apunae"!
