NUT CASE: Acorn-y Cache *Archived 6-8-14* Traditional Cache
The Scout Master: The Scout Master here. Well, After 6 years and 4 months, with 430 finds and NO DNFs, I must Archive my NUT CASE: Acorn-y Cache. This was a fun cache to make and one it seems cachers had fun with. It had 227 trackables visit it.
Unfortunately, the power line company has cut down the trees that held the cache container and just left it on the ground under limbs and trunk pieces.
Still, Thank You all so much for the visits, as well as the 86 FAV POINST given. Glad you enjoyed it. I hope it made traveling down the interstate more enjoyable. Happy Caching!

Located off I-85 along a dead-end, frontage-type road, this should be a FUN cache! Terrain is 1.5, as it CANNOT be done from a wheelchair. It COULD be done if you are on crutches(or even if you are not). It CAN be done by kids, but an adult will have to help with the height(about 5 feet). Still, Great for Kids!
.....NUTS!! Where is a squirrel when you need one? OK, to access this cache, you must think like a squirrel(who would REALLY like this)! The log is encased inside a nut. You must find said nut.(Not a hard job, as it turns out).
.....To get to this cache (which you can drive almost right up to): Take Exit 60 off of I-85. If you are traveling North-bound on 85, turn RIGHT on Hwy 101. If you are traveling South-bound, go left on Hwy 101 over the bridge. Take the First LEFT,(Plemmons Rd). Then take the Next LEFT(which runs into Mayfield Rd but is NOT marked). You will then need to take a Hard LEFT. The cache is just ahead on the left. IF YOU COME TO THE YELLOW VENT STICKING UP OUT OF THE CONCRETE, YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR!
.....Look for the Nut Case(Remenber-think like a squirrel-they LOVE acorns! You will have to figure out how to retrieve it(it's not hard - there is a clip-link that you will undo). Be sure to return it to its correct place when you havce signed the log. NOTE There is no pen, so BYOP.(Bring Your Own Pen). (Watch out for possible thorns).
