Geocache Description:

Cache is located in LaCamas Park. The trails are well maintained but can have moderately steep sections.

A Bridge Too Far

A Bridge Too Far is a 1977 film based on the 1974 book of the same name by Cornelius Ryan. It was directed by Richard Attenborough. The film tells the story of Operation Market Garden, an only partially successful Allied attempt to break through German lines and seize several bridges in the occupied Netherlands during World War II. The name for the film comes from a comment made by British Lt Gen Frederick Browning, who told Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery before the operation, "I think we may be going a bridge too far."

The cache is located in LaCamas Park. This place is a true Northwest wonder. There are lakes, waterfalls, streams, fields and yes even some basalt to climb on. Picking the right trail will determine how long your trek to the “Bridge Too Far” will be. I have provided two parking locations. Each has its merits. Read the descriptions to decide which suits you best. There is a third location from where you can reach the cache. However, the parking is risky at best, so I will not post the coordinates here.

At the cache site relax, listen to the running water and recite this poem.

Once you get here, I think you will see.
There are many places, a cache could be.
Your GPS dances, like a trained bear
Just pocket the new fangled hi-tech hardware.
The water runs cold, so don’t go down there.
Look for a corner, reach down and ensnare.
No need to get muddy, if you do this one right
The stone gate must open, for the cache to take flight
The container is rectangle, five by eight.
I am sure you found it, congrats to ya mate.

Congratulations to Andersenlss for the 1st to find!
