WYCHBOLD (Single Track) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

harriers: Think this one has run it's course so am going to archive this one, as we thought it would be "findable" in the winter months. Brambles have overtaken it and where it is hidden is impossible to get to without cutters. So - as this is an ammo can we will look for a different (more accessible) place to hide it. Apologies to Valky9, Firework99 and bargee who couldn't get to it but brought it to our attention.
Surprised it's lasted this long to be honest - good while it lasted. Thanks for everyone's logs and fave points.

Geocache Description:

One of a series of ‘WYCHBOLD’ caches. This one is an ammo can. Terrain rating a 3 because there are several stiles to get over and steps to climb if you come from WYCHBOLD (St Mary). Parking closer can delete all stiles.

The footpath starts just past the church near the co-ordinates for WYCHBOLD (St Mary). Cross a couple of fields and stiles to find the cache. From the cache site, to do the others in the series, walk East with the hedge on your right (away from the railway). Half way along, look for a break in the hedge with a footpath marker, cross to the other side and walk in the same direction but with the hedge now on your left. Follow path out to the road. You now need to pick up the canal which is behind the houses opposite, but the path is the other side of the canal. So turn right then left over the bridge and pick up the canal path walking right – or turn left and then right by the Boat and Railway Inn, turning right onto canal over the bridge. Walk along canal past some locks and come off at the lock cottage. Walk back up along the lane, turning right at T junction to get back to the church.

It’s about a 3-mile round walk to pick up all 4 of the WYCHBOLD caches – a little longer if you walk down to Masterful.
Other caches in this series are :
WYCHBOLD (No 84)
WYCHBOLD (No 129)
WYCHBOLD (St Mary) and
WYCHBOLD (Masterful)

Initial contents of this cache are
log book and pen ; Marble Game ; Homer Simpson bottle opener ; Bouncy Ball ; Yorkshire Geocoin.

Please be careful retrieving this cache.
