This cache is easily accessible in during the winter. With all the snow we received you might just want to wear boots cause you'll have to walk through some snow!
This cache is hidden along the Holiday Trail section of the Green Circle Trail. This section is 1.1 miles long starting at the trailhead on the edge of Schmeeckle Reserve(east) to Zenoff Park (west). It enters the forested area across the road from Stevens Point Area Senior High, and follows a small stream past meadows and active ponds.
In the 1870s, a brickyard owned by Edward Langenberg was located along this section of the trail. Pits were dug to excavate clay from the creek bed. Today the pits have become wetland ponds, ideal habitat for many wildlife species like frogs, turtles, and herons.
