Bowers Built Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bowers_Boys:

The geocache has been located, it is unfortunately under several hundred pounds of rock. Mother Nature has reclaimed what was always hers. I am sorry those who were unable to find it. I hope in the near future to have a new one to replace this one. Not a bad run for my first hide.

Geocache Description:

The trail in is fairly easy, the trail is actually mark with some white paint tags on some trees. Once you get near a water flow source though it will have a change in altitude of just 15 to 20 feet. Nothing a child couldn't walk up. This one is a nice 1/2, maybe 1 hour hunt tops! Bring a lunch, enjoy the view and the sounds of the water. Even some fishing is possible. The total trip is about 1/2 mile round trip.

This is the first cache I have hid yet. It is located in a little forgotten area of Park Hills. I used to go here all the time as a kid.

First off, the best place to park is N 37* 51.596 W 090*30.313. If you need more help, it is at the intersection of Pelican and Jane Dr.

Like I said the trail has some white tree tags of white, the entrance of the trail is easily seen and follows it all the way. The trail is easy, but strollers would be difficult.

This would be a great cache for some "Cache In, Trash Out." Trust me though it is no easy task, some of the past floods have dragged some trash in, but once you get near the Cache it turns into a pretty nice scene.

This cache is placed on public land and there are no restrictions on the period of availability, but do have consideration for the neighbors near the trail entrance, no need to make a lot of noise late at night, but once in the woods there is little or no need for stealth.

If you are curious about the strange water source from the rocks, it is not a spring; it is an old water pump outlet from the mines.

Congrats to the JonesCrew for the FTF, Great Job!
