Shortcut Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Belsize Wood, a shortcut between the tube and Lawn Road. The path has shallow steps so not suitable for a wheelchair.

Belsize Wood is a small little known nature reserve situated between Belsize Park Tube station and Lawn Road. Much of the site was developed by Camden Council as its last new build housing estate in the 1980s. The wooded area is now split in two. One half to the south is the nature reserve only open to the public when opened by volunteers though signposted with information on the wildlife present. The other half is now also fenced but with access through the gate to a small adventure playground. There remains a public footpath running through the middle. Where the path reaches Lawn Road you will find, to the right, the Isokon, aka Lawn Road Flats. This famous building was designed by Wells Coates in 1934 to look like a giant transatlantic liner and the first British block of flats to be built in reinforced concrete.
