Kocsonya is a traditional Hungarian cold salty jelly, mostly made from pork, rarely from fish, game or vegateble. With this cache presenting the natural, cultural and tourist assets of Miskolc we invite you to discover the third largest city of Hungary. The points can be accessed by bicycle and by public transportation as well (if you want to have more information on transportation and timetable, click here).

In Miskolc, since 9 years, the Kocsonyafestival is organized every February with the purpose to present the values of the city. The basic idea of the festival is based on an old saying ("He blinks like the frog in the Miskolc kocsonya!.”. Every year a great number of programs is related to the festival: sport events and also the kocsonya ball. This year the Kocsonyafestival will take place between February 20 and 22 and everybody is welcome to attend interesting programs on the weekend or just to eat a delicious kocsonya:).

The points

1st point: Paper Industry Museum of Diósgyor
The Paper Mill of Diósgyor has been operating since 1782, producing these days mostly safety paper. Since 1920 the Paper Mill has been producing banknote paper as well, the paper for the Hungarian banknotes is being produced here. The museum presents the history of paper and of the Paper Mill from the beginning up to our days. If you want to visit the museum, please arrange the appointment in advance at 06-46/530-824. The museum can be visited, after arranging the visit in advance by phone, on Wednesday and Friday from 10.00 to 14.00. (unfortunately the tour guide retired, this is the reason for the limited opening hours) On the small square in front of the entrance of the paper mill, count the blades of the brown cylinder at the point  N 48° 6.8110' E 20° 39.7480' 205 m [GC197TE-01] and add 32 to the result and thus you will come to the AB part of the cache coordinates.

2nd point: State Forest Railways of Lillafüred, terminal stop
The railway construction started 1920 under the name Szinvavölgyi Erdei Vasút (Forest Railway of the Szinva Valley) and the dedication ceremony took place 1921. Originally it was used for the transportation of wood but by now it is serving exclusively for the transportation of tourists. At the present there are two lines: the main line to Garadna (Miskolc-Lillafüred-Garadna) and a limited wing line (Miskolc-Papírgyár-Mahóca). 3rd point: Museum of Theatre History
The theatre dating back to the longest history in Hungary is the National Theatre of Miskolc that was extended as a result of the theatre reconstruction from 1991 to 1996 to a theatre district. The Museum of Theatre History is in the building complex: the memorial place of the deceased actresses and actors of Miskolc is in the Déryné street, where, from 1823 to 1843 the first stone theatre of Hungary using the Hungarian language was located. For more information about the opening hours please visit the website of the National Theatre of Miskolc, and at the same site you can also read the actual program of the theatre. 4.pont: Szent Anna cemetery, the gravesite of Déryné
Róza Déryné Széppataki was born Rozália Schenbach in Jászberény as the daughter of József Schenbach, pharmacist of Jászberény. She joined the second Hungarian theatre company 1813 in Pest. József Katona (a famous Hungarian dramatist) wanted to marry her, however she married István Déry, actor, whom she soon diverced. 1815 she went to Eger then to Miskolc and at last she became member of the company of Dávid Kilényi on the West side of the Danube, she came to Pozsony and Vienna as well. She came to Kolozsvár 1823 and played there for four years, the launching and prospering of opera performances is associated with her name, but anyhow she is regarded the first Hungarian opera singer. She played in Pest, Kassa, Debrecen and in smaller cities in Transylvania as well. 1852 she retired from the stage, reunited with her husband and lived together with him until his death in Diósgyor (the house next to the Diósgyor castle operates as a memorial place today) then she moved to Miskolc. The last detail of the coordinate is at the point  N 48° 6.3930' E 20° 45.9320' 155 m [GC197TE-04]: EF=(from the footpath crossing along the cemetery, in which row is the gravesite of Déryné, and please bring this number to the square). The parking lot proposed for point number 4 and 5:  N 48° 6.4200' E 20° 45.9040' 138 m [GC197TE+parking].

5th point: the cache
The last point [N48° 06,EFD E20° 45.ABC 132m] is the cache itself, not far away from the noisy downtown area, in a silent valley, on the brookside.

Ezzel a miskolci természeti, kulturális és turisztikai nevezetességet bemutató ládával Magyarország harmadik legnagyobb városának felfedezésére invitálunk Benneteket. A multi végigjárása több idot igényel, mint a legtöbb láda, de bízom benne, hogy megéri a ráfordított idot. A pontok kerékpárral is megközelíthetoek, illetve tömegközlekedéssel is el lehet jutni valamennyi helyre (a járatokról és a menetrendrol itt tájékozódhatsz). A pontok javasolt bejárási sorrendje megfelel a sorszámozásnak.

Miskolcon 9 éve minden év februárjában rendezik meg a Kocsonyafesztivált, melynek célja a város értékeinek bemutatása. A rendezvény alapötlete egy régi mondásra épült ("Pislog, mint miskolczi kotsonyában a béka!"). Évrol évre rengeteg program kapcsolódik a fesztiválhoz: sporteseményektol kezdve egészen a Kocsonyabálig.

A Kocsonyafesztivál idén február 20. és 22. között kerül megrendezésre, melyre a szervezok szeretettel várnak mindenkit, aki érdekes programokkal szeretne eltölteni egy hétvégét, vagy csak enne egy jó kocsonyát:).


A pontok

1.pont: Diósgyori Papíripari Múzeum
A Diósgyori Papírgyár 1782 óta muködo létesítmény, amely napjainkban leginkább biztonsági papírokat gyárt. 1920 óta készít bankjegypapírt is, ma is itt gyártják a magyar fizetoeszköz alapjául szolgáló papírt. A papír és a gyár történetét mutatja be a kezdetektol napjainkig a múzeum, amely a 06-46/530-824-es telefonszámon történo elozetes bejelentkezés után szerdán és pénteken 10-14 óráig látogatható (sajnos nyugdíjba ment a tárlatvezeto, ezért ilyen rövid jelenleg a nyitvatartás). A papírgyár bejárata elotti kis téren, a  N 48° 6,8110' E 20° 39,7480' 205 m [GCKOCS-1] ponton található barna hengeres eszköz (hollandi malom orlodobja a becsületes neve) lapátjait számold meg, és adj hozzá 32-t, így már meg is kapod a láda koordinátájából az AB részt.

2.pont: Lillafüredi Állami Erdei Vasút végállomása
A vasút építését 1920-ban kezdték meg Szinvavölgyi Erdei Vasút néven, és 1921-ben adták át a forgalomnak. Eredeti célja faszállítás volt, de mára kizárólag turisztikai célokat szolgál. Jelenleg két vonalon közlekedik a vonat: a garadnai fovonalon (Miskolc-Lillafüred-Garadna) és korlátozottan a parasznyai szárnyvonalon (Miskolc-Papírgyár-Mahóca). A menetrendret, árakat és a kisvasúttal kapcsolatos egyéb információkat itt találod. A kisvasút végállomásánál lévo tíz emeletes toronyház tetején muködik a Dr. Szabó Gyula Bemutató Csillagvizsgáló, amely látogatható is a honlapjukon feltüntetett idopontokban. A leolvasandó számot a  N 48° 6,0230' E 20° 42,1500' 173 m [GCKOCS-2] ponton a Miskolc térképét tartalmazó információs táblához legközelebbi sínfeliraton találod: C= az évszám 4.számjegye (segítség:IOSGYOR xxxx B.A.)

3.pont: Színháztörténeti és Színészmúzeum
Az ország legnagyobb múltra visszatekinto teátruma a Miskolci Nemzeti Színház, amely az 1991 - 1996 között folyó színházrekonstrukció eredményként színházi negyeddé bovült. Az épületegyüttesben található a Színháztörténeti és Színészmúzeum: az elhunyt miskolci teátristák emlékhelye a Déryné utcában kapott helyet, ott, ahol 1823-tól 1843-ig Magyarország elso magyar nyelvu koszínháza állt. Látogatási információk a Miskolci Nemzeti Színház honlapján találhatók, ugyanitt megtalálhatjátok a színház aktuális musorát is. A koordináta részlet a múzeum falán a  N 48° 6,1950' E 20° 47,0380' 110 m [GCKOCS-3] pontban található muemlék feliratú tábláról olvasható le: D=a táblán található kft.-k száma.

4.pont: Szent Anna-temeto, Déryné síremléke
Déryné Széppataki Róza: Schenbach Rozália néven született Jászberényben, Schenbach József jászberényi patikus leányaként; 1813-ban szerzodött a második magyar színtársulathoz Pestre. Katona József feleségül kérte, de o pályatársa, Déry István felesége lett, akitol azonban hamarosan elvált. 1815-ben Egerbe, majd Miskolcra ment, végül Kilényi Dávid dunántúli színtársulatának lett tagja; Pozsonyba és Bécsbe is eljutott. Kolozsvárra szerzodött 1823-ban, négy évig ott játszott; nevéhez fuzodik az operaeloadások megindítása és felvirágoztatása, de egyébként is ot tartják az elso magyar operaénekesnonek. Játszott még Pesten, Kassán, Debrecenben, kisebb erdélyi városokban. 1852-ben visszavonult a színpadtól, kibékült férjével, és annak haláláig vele élt Diósgyorben (a vár mellett lévo ház ma emlékházként muködik), azután beköltözött Miskolcra. Az utolsó koordináta részlet a  N 48° 6,3930' E 20° 45,9320' 155 m [GCKOCS-4] ponton található meg: EF=(a temetot hosszában átszelo gyalogúttól számolva hányadik sorban van Déryné síremléke, ezt a számot emeld négyzetre). A 4. és 5. ponthoz javasolt parkolóhely:  N 48° 6,4200' E 20° 45,9040' 138 m [GCKOCS+parkoló]

5.pont: A láda
A multi utolsó pontja [N48° 06,EFD E20° 45.ABC 132m] maga a láda, nem messze a zajos belvárostól, egy csendes kis völgyben, a patak közelében, egy fa törzsében falevelekkel álcázva található.

A láda rejtekhelyét havas idoben néztük ki, amikor még nem látszott, hogy néhol "kicsit" szemetes a környéke. Rejtéskor sok szemetet összeszedtünk, de sajnos még maradt így is. Idén a fesztivál is több ponton kapcsolódik a környezetvédelemhez (lesz Zöld Fesztivál civil szervezetekkel és a Bükki Nemzeti Park az egyik díszvendég), ezért kérlek Titeket, ha a láda megkeresése közben egy kicsit segíteni szeretnétek a nemes célt, akkor lehetoségeitekhez mérten szedjetek össze némi szemetet, ezáltal egy kicsit a magyar geocaching társadalom is részt vállalhatna a környezet megóvásában.
