Short walk from the highway, slightly uphill, but easy walk. If there is no snow,ice or mud you can drive.
Did a little maintanance yesterday (Sunday March 18, 2012). Lots of SWAG in this cache now and an easy find at this time of year. The Cache is wired to a Honeysuckle bush to keep it from rolling away in a heavy rain. Be sure to visit Daniel Shays' Grave. I stuck an extra American Flag on it yesterday that I found laying in the cemetery. To the south of Daniel's grave on the other side of the driveway notice the Zinc gravestones. I find these very interesting. Notice that they were designed to add extra names...though this one is full. When you drive back north along Conesus Lake be sure to stop at the Department of Environmental Conservation's viewing sites to look for birds...and at the one closest to Conesus Lake, in April, you might just have an opportunity ot see the Wall Eye run when the Wall Eyes go upstream to spawn.Once you find the cache, inside the top written on the cover is the coordiantes of the actual site to find. When I did the maintanance yesterday I forgot a magic marker to redo the coordinates...you can still see them but faintly. I will redo that the next time I"m by that way...but very easy to find Daniel Shay's grave as it is well marked in the cemetery. LOTS of interesting history here in western New York. There in informaiton in the cache about the site to look for and it's historical importance. There are some suggestions in the cache for further investigation, especially if you have a young adult with you. There is a dollar for a prize...but not a normal dollar!!
After being contacted by a finder that the cache was out in the open I did some "Maintenance" today. I added a set of fridge magnets relating to Civil War Medicine to the cache and rehid it. It is a BIT more difficult to find now though "nearly" in the same place. Use these coordinates for a more precise location. N 42 40.779 W077 42.973. Happy hunting!!! Rebel Doctor
