Colligan Wood, Dungarvan, County Waterford.
Relatively flat, gravely trails through woodland.
Colligan Wood is located only 7km northwest of Dungarvan Town, just off the R672 road to Clonmel. The wood is situated in a valley through which the Colligan River runs.
There are forest and riverside walks, picnic tables, benches and parking available here. Many species of tree can seen in the wood including Oak, Ash, Beech, Silver Birch, Sycamore and Douglas Fir. There are a good variety of animals and birds here, while salmon and trout can be found in the river.
Access:
Park at the coordinates given below and enter the woods using the footbridge. Start ascent to cache site about 90 metres beyond end of protective railing.
The cache is a small round camouflaged tupperware box. BYOP.
Note - leaf canopy in summer will make GPS very jumpy. Walk info here.
