A Summer Birth Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

insanimal: I was planning to archive this cache soon anyway, and the fact that it has now been muggled has just made it a little sooner. While there is no real danger, as the land has now become permissive access there will be signs going up soon warning people away from the quarrys.

Geocache Description:

A short walk from parking in either available direction on footpaths across fields in a river valley. An easy climb involved in reaching the cache. It overlooks a beautiful, quiet valley in which this branch of the Bristol Avon springs from the ground during the Summer. The site of old quarry workings look down on the river, and a Tanner's House once sat on the riverbank.

A round lunchbox in a black sack, initially containing only Travel Bugs and Geocoins.

The village of Luckington has a very good pub, The Old Royal Ship Inn, offering real ales and excellent food. The village church is where they filmed the wedding scenes for Pride and Prejudice, and actor John Thaw lived in the village.

The 'formal' source of the Bristol Avon is Crow Down Springs, which is a pleasant walk away on a different branch towards Sopworth.
