This
cache was originally part of the Hudson Hot Air Affair Geocache
Bash 2008. If you found it during that event, you can go ahead and
log the find. Cache is now a 2-quart camo'd
cooler.
This cache brings you to a very nice walking path in Hudson, near
the St. Croix River. This one was moved a couple hundred feet in
from its HHAA location to try and keep it dry during the high water
season. Cache is only a few feet off the walking path, so stealth
may be needed. There is a beach nearby, band shell, and some very
nice green space. Take note of some of the very large cottonwood
trees in the area. Enjoy the stroll.
The Hudson Hot Air Affair
is the premier winter ballooning event and winter festival in the
Midwest. Thousands of visitors head to the St. Croix Valley
community in west central Wisconsin and local residents make it a
homecoming every year on the first full weekend in February. About
40 colorful hot air balloons, including special shapes, launch in
mass ascensions Saturday and Sunday mornings and light up the night
at the Saturday evening Moon Glow or Field of Fire. Balloonists
traditionally attend from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South
Dakota, Iowa, Illinois and
Nebraska.
