Geocache Description:

First in a yet undetermined number of caches I plan to place on and around the West Ashley Greenway.

Along the West Ashley Greenway

The West Ashley Greenway is a 10.5 mile trail constructed atop an old railroad bed. While largely residential in nature, the westernmost section traverses a salt marsh and offers outstanding water views and birdwatching galore.

To access the cache, park off of Main Road, just north of the Johns Island connector, on McLeod Mill Road. Coming south on Main Road from US-17, McLeod Mill Rd. is a right turn that loops around and goes under Main Road (see trailhead/parking coordinates below).

Once you're on the trail it's a flat and straight walk to the cache. The cache is a standard ammo box, filled with goodies and a Civil War-Fort Sumter geocoin for the FTF. Enjoy the scenery!
