With a hide date of 8-28-01 this might be the oldest cache site in the area. The closest trail access may be found at the end of Monarch, just before the big iron gates.
Original description by cessna1: "The cache is hidden in some brush on the top of a moderate hill along a hiking trail. There is a picnic table and a place to tie up your horse if you so please to. The cache is past the table and a little to the left off the trail. It is accessible by mountain-bike, foot, or horseback. The cache contains at least 20 different CDs, a pair of sunglasses, and a logbook and pen. The cache is a gallon ice cream container with Geocache markings on the outside. " 8/04/05 I replaced the cache today and checked out the area. I was last up here about a year ago and much has changed. The nearby picnic table is gone, but the horse tie-up is still there. The winter rains brought a lot of vegetation growth, as it did everywhere, but it has died out for the summer. 7/31/15 I replaced the deteriorating container today. It is hard to believe that the last one lasted 10 years! Our drought has really taken a toll on this area. Please bring a pen for signing the log book.
