The highest point in the Ystradfellte Community is 715 metres,
at the trig point on the south-western flank of Fan Fawr.
From the trig point, you will be rewarded with fine views of Fan
Llia, Fan Nedd, and Fan Gyhirych to the west. To the east, Corn Du
and its long southern flank are visible above the summit of Fan
Fawr.
If you begin your ascent from Storey Arms, you will undoubtedly
notice that the main routes to the summit are severely eroded.
Please keep your ecological footprint to a minimum, by staying on
the main tracks. Alternatively, the walk up from Ystradfellte
Reservoir is quite pleasant. Taking this route will also keep you
within the boundary of the Ystradfellte Community!
You will find a number printed on the inside front cover of the
log book. You will need to make a note of this number in order to
find the bonus cache.
