Geocache Description:

This cache has been relocated from its original site. It is .4 miles from the wild buffalo field.

Take Rt.20 to Everingham Rd west of Rt.81. The coordinates above lead you to the cache site. The cache is a large ammo box. After finding the cache we recommend continuing down Everingham road .4 miles where you can see one end of the grazing field for a wild herd of buffalo (bison). The best times to see the buffalo from the cache site is morning and evening. The buffalo travel to the higher field during the day. During the day you can follow the dirt road to the left side of the corral. The dirt road runs along the borders of the Town of Lafayette and the Onondaga Nation Reservation. There is one house on the dirt road and the owner said viewing the buffalo from the dirt road was okay. DO NOT TRESPASS IN THE FIELDS (obey signs) OR TOUCH THE FENCE. The buffalo are wild and are not friendly. Drive your car down the road as far as possible and you can walk along the fence. Bring binoculars for better viewing in case the buffalo are not near the edge of the range.
The buffalo are cared for by the Onondaga Nation People ("People of the Hills", one of the six nations of the Haudenosaunee).
