The
Deep Space Nine episode called "Prophet Motive" deals with the
Ferengi known as Quark (say it like it sounds
) trying to find out why the Grand
Nagus (Ferengi world leader) is messing with the Ferengi way of
life. In the end Quark figures out what happened and gets
everything back to "normal". By the way, the Ferengi are a race
that that believe in free enterprise, and are always looking for an
excellent business deal.
Now, I won't admit to being and excellent businessman, but I
have a lot of fun geocaching. There are plenty of great geocachers
out there that I value as friends, and if you can compare "finding
geocaches" to "business deals", then there are plenty of geocachers
out there that are business partners of mine.
The original geocache container placed here was given to me
when I found my #1000th geocache find (GCNYKN - "Knockin' On Heavens Door", by Sandbassking
& Queen) about a year and a half ago. On that particular find I
was out with ToxicDoc, Caveman, Loco Lupine, and Lacanthorn. Once we had the log book signed,
Cave and Loco pull out this golden ammo box in honor of this being
my #1000th find. This ammo box used to be the geocache here. Having
been muggled in early 2010, you now are looking for a "micro in the
woods".
Please be aware that to the east of this cache is a cliff
warning sign and a sharp drop off. It is far enough away that it
should not be a problem, but you at least need to be aware of the
terrain. Parking on the nearby street is okay, but the neighborhood
watch will make it advisable to avoid doing this one at night.
Original "Valuables" (contents) of the cache included:
Football toy and baseball key chain: just how much money is made or
lost because of the final score of the big ball game?
CITO container: Don't you value a clean geocaching area?
Lockheed Martin level: How expensive are their planes,
anyway?
1st place ribbon: It's nice to come in 1st, isn't it?
rocket toy pack: Our kids' futures will depend on manned space
flight, you think?
GeoWoodstock lanyard: Where all good friends get together
Dice pack: Roll a seven, win big...
Coke bottle toy: Aren't they a big money maker in the soda
industry?
Toy plane: Having a plane to get where you're going would be the
bomb.
Pac Man toy: one of the early video games, made it big, didn't
it?
Scrudson's 5th Birthday robot: reminding us to invest in our kids'
futures.
Ferrarri 365 Hotwheels car: another expensive car for a wife to
drive
Auto Zone spark plug adjuster: remember to keep the vehicles
running well for geocaching
RL Turner HS pen: education is important
Toy ring: that wedding ring can be expensive...
Bugs Bunny flip card: one of the best cartoon characters, helped
the industry
three marbles: don't loose yours
binoculars: Hey, we'd all like to see what our future holds.
I don't think I could put it any better than Cave did in his
logged note that day, "Yeah, its the numbers but the people you meet
doing this is the real prize." This cache is for all of you,
whether you're going for numbers or just having fun, by yourself or
with a team. Enjoy, and may all your geocaching be
"Prophet"able.
