Tree of Life Traditional Cache
beladi1: I did not think that I would ever archive a cache but the host tree has been trimmed up several times. I could have placed a cache higher in the tree but then the difficulty would have changed. As I checked on this cache I noticed there were a lot of bird nests. So I am giving the tree back to the birds. Thanks for all who have visited my cache.

Small container which only holds the log. Please bring a pen. The Tree of Life is a powerful image and idea present in many cultures including the Native Americans. The tree represents renewal, growth, the cycle of life and the continuing connection between those of this world and those who have gone before us. The tree is a large and strong presence. It is a place where a family gathers to honor their ancestors and their traditional ways. Some Native Americans believe that the spirits are protecting and guiding them in this life and the next into the spirit world. The Great Spirit watches them from above the trees. Swaths of colorful cloth are tied to the branches of a tree, which represents the prayers the family is offering to the Great Spirit. In Lakota tradition people will make tobacco ties. The eagle offers remembrance, protection, strength and is a conduit for the prayers and love of those in the spirit world and the family.
