teamaisie: Visited the cache during our recent visit to family in Leuven. The site has disappeared - we think due to forestry works in that part of the wood. The old tree stump that the cache was hidden beneath is gone, and we could find no trace of the box.

Geocache Description:

Easy to find woodland location in Heverlee Bos near Leuven.

A traditional cache placed by teamaisie during a visit to family in Leuven. Cache is a small plastic box, hidden just off the path in a quiet corner of Heverlee Bos. Look for a small patch of woodland where three paths make a triangle. Tree cover may make coordinates tricky.

This part of Heverlee Bos forms the Northern edge of an extended area of woodland South of Leuven. Important landmarks within walking distance of the cache are Heverlee War Cemetery (visit link) , where many aircrew perished over this part of Belgium during the Second World War have their final resting place, and also the Zoet Water lakes that separate Heverlee Bos from Meerdaal Woud. Few nice pubs and bistros there. We recommend the Saint Jean!

Now that the Dolphin travel bug that was first placed in this cache has moved on, we have renamed it "Een Huis voor een Muis". This is after our original cache near our hometown of York - "A Mouse House" (visit link) . Leuven is where I was born so they should form a nice pair! Maybe you'll bag both??

Een traditionele cache geplaatst door teamaisie tijdens een familiebezoek in Leuven. Cache is een kleine plastieken doos, nabij een pad doorheen Heverlee Bos. Kijk uit voor een kruispunt van bosweggetjes, waar drie paadjes een driehoek vormen. De bomen kunnen soms ontvangstproblemen met de GPS opleveren.

In de buurt heb je op een boogscheut het oorlogskerkhof van Heverlee (visit link) , waar talrijke bemanningsleden van vliegtuigen die boven dit deel van Belgie werden neergeschoten tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog hun laatste rustplaats vinden. Van bij de cache kan je ook makkelijk te voet of per fiets naar het Zoet Water, waar we de Saint Jean aanraden voor een tussenstop. Van daar kan je dan weer verder het Meerdaal Woud in.

Nu de travelbug met de dolfijn vertrokken is, hebben we de cache hernoemd tot "Een Huis voor een Muis". Dit is naar onze andere cache - "A Mouse House" (visit link) nabij Kirkham Priory (visit link) in onze huidige thuisstad York. Leuven is dan weer mijn geboortestad, en zo vormen deze twee een mooi paar. Misschien bezoekt u wel eens "A Mouse House"?
