Tis time to tell your Blarney Stories
about Caching, share some Irish Food and wish for Spring so
the Hills are green again
This will be a potluck gathering so
its time to put on your aprons and start some cooking.
I'll me making some:
Codal Duibhlinneach - A favorite Saturday night dish of Dubliners,
with Ham, Sausages, Onions & Potatoes
Cal Ceannann - A special dish of potatoes, cabbage & leeks
Ciste Meacain Dherga - Carrot Cake
Did you ever eat Colcannon
When 'twas made with yellow cream,
And the Kale and pratties blended
Like the picture in a dream?
Did you ever take a forkful
And dip it in the lake
of heather flavored butter
That your mother used to make?
Oh you did, yes you did
So did he and so did I,
And the more I think about it
Sure, the more I want to cry.
God be with the happy times
When trouble we had not
And our mothers made Colcannon
In the three-legged pot.
And I'm working on a cache hunt for the wee
ones.
And don't forget your compass for it will be used in a game that
should be fun.
