How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in a public park in Clifton, VA. Both the nearby Heart in Hand restaurant and the cache location have special meaning to me. Read my note in the cache to find out why! PLEASE DO NOT WALK ON/BESIDE THE TRAIN TRACKS EVEN IF THAT IS THE WAY YOUR GPS UNIT IS POINTING - WALK ON THE STREET ONLY.

PARKING:
Please park by the train tracks, next to the Clifton Pedestrian Plaza or the old caboose. Please do NOT park on the side streets, as they are too narrow. There is NO public parking that is closer to the cache, so do not attempt to drive closer to the coordinates.
Caution: The train tracks are used by Amtrak and freight trains at all times of day. Do not walk on, beside or across the tracks! The BunnyMan may not get you but the train will kill you for sure. Once you have parked, please use the hunting information below to guide you to the cache. The cache is not near the train tracks, in compliance with Geocaching guidelines.

HUNTING:
This is an easy walk on streets (hint: 1964 hit song by The Dixie Cups) and trails until the final move to the cache, which is hidden in the base of a tree. The "No Trespassing" sign from Fairfax County at the end of the street applies to a pumping station off to the right; the cache is in the park. The container is filled with an exciting selection of items from various vistors. Please do not leave any food or dog treats in the cache - close the lid TIGHTLY as the area does flood from time to time. Bug repellent is required in warm months. Note: the "graves" you may see are left over from the annual Haunted Trail on Oct 31.

UPDATE: 11/20/2005
Due to notes about the wetness of the cache, I am going to disable the listing until I have a chance to correct the problem.
