Berri Football Club
This cache has been placed at the home
ground of the Berri Football Club. The cache should not be
attempted whilst there is any activity (winter or summer sports) on
the oval or at any of the adjacent sporting venues as the cache is
in a somewhat exposed location with there being nowhere for a
cacher to hide if caught in the act! You will need to use stealth,
and for that reason the difficulty rating is somewhat
higher.
The Berri Football Club plays in the
Riverland Football League. The Berri Football Club is known as the
Berri Demons, and they wear blue and red jumpers.
According to the
footypedia web site
the Berri Football Club first played in 1910, and won their first
premiership in 1913 whilst playing in the Murray Football
Association.
Over time the local competition has been
referred to as the Upper Murray Football Association and as the
Upper Murray Football League.
In 1972 the Riverland Football League was
adopted as the name of the competition, with the Berri Football
Club becoming the inaugural premiers.
