Geocache Description:

A cache inspired by an earlier cache which has since been archived

This walk takes you past the recently reconstructed Tarvit Pond towards Tarvit Home Farm.

Formerly called Nether Tarvit, this pond used to freeze over yearly to allow the Cupar Curlers their annual competitions.

The estate was purchased by James Home Rigg Esquire in 1720 and Tarvit Home Farm is the only remaining building today. In January 2008, Lomond Homes prepared plans showing the reconstruction of the Farm which has been called
one of the 'finest examples of a Home Farm complex in Scotland'. The land at the moment is used for fruit growing and if you continue along the path after finding the cache, you will come across some residential caravans where the seasonal pickers stay.

The cache is hidden beside an early example of a fridge, more commonly known as an Ice House!

Please remember to pay the toll as you wander along the path as the wild fowl have been known to be viscous to anyone trying to sneak past. You have been warned.
