Half Man Half Eejit: As with all of our caches, thanks for all those that took the time to visit and say something nice...well actually just anything other 'T4TC' (or less).

Geocache Description:

About SideTracked:

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy. But what about public transport users? SideTracked caches are intended to provide quick cache and dashes at train stations.

About Melksham Station:

Melksham railway station is on the line from Chippenham to Trowbridge that was originally part of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway, absorbed in 1850 by the Great Western Railway (GWR). The station opened in 1847 but, like many similar transport nodes was closed in 1966 under the Beeching Axe. However, it reopened in 1985.

The curious thing about Melksham station is that it is served by just two trains a day each way. Talk about busy!

The ‘Save The Melksham Train’ group have been campaigning for improvements to the services on the line for a number of years. The group have the support of Wiltshire Council who themselves are lobbying the train operator (First Great Western) and the Government for an increased service.

The Cache:

You are looking for a magnetic tube. The cache does not have anything to scribe with so we would advise visitors to bring their own pen / pencil.
