Green Wheel - Peakirk Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The Green Wheel circles the city with primary and national cycle network routes radiating out from the city centre. The outer ring of the Green Wheel is 45 miles long and it is a great way to keep fit or burn some calories while having fun and taking in the fantastic scenery. The Green Wheel will take you to the historic fens and rolling countryside nearby that is unique to Peterborough. You can thread your way through the picturesque scenery, delightful woodlands, tranquil nature reserves and stop off at a country pub for food and refreshments as you wish.
The £11 million project was 50% funded by the National Lottery through the Millennium Commission, matched by contributions from public and private businesses and voluntary organisation.
The Green Wheel series of caches is either on, or close to, the outer circle, the ‘spokes’ or National Cycle Network (NCN) routes
Enjoy!
This is the first cache I have placed, so please go easy on me!
This can either be done whilst cycling the Green Wheel, or as a quick dash (there is space for a couple of cars at N52 38.311 W000 16.997)
Cache includes:
2 balloons
1 badge
1 dice
There is also a £2 coin, which I would like the FTF to place in a charity box of their choice.
The cache is only big enough for small swaps and please bring your own pen!
