A Cache hidden near our family's villa in Portugal. Short walk (<0.1miles) from parking.
Fonte Felipe is a lovely quiet spot for a picnic, with parking near a bridge over the river, and a nora (water well)! There is also a built in BBQ, as is traditional in Portuguese picnic areas.
To find Fonte Felipe;
Take the N270 from Loule towards Sao Bras de Alportel
Opposite the Ze Dias restaurant/ night club, take the N523 signposted S. Romao.
Take the second road on the left (staying on the N523) towards Mahlhao and Amendoeira.
When you reach Amendoeira, take a right at the crossroads, signposted Fonte Felipe.
Please note that the path (South-East) from the parking actually fords the river. We've never seen much water in it, but after heavy rain the Cache may be inaccessible from this end (though should still be possible to reach it from the village at the other end of the path)
Cache is an ice-cream tub in a grey carrier bag.
After finding the Cache you can continue up the path for a longer walk.
When you return to the car, you can continue over the bridge and follow a dirt track through some beautiful countryside. Eventually the road becomes tarmacadamed again. At the end (T-junction) turn left, to emerge on the N2 North of Sao Bras (turn left for the Serra do Caldeira mountains, and more Caches, or turn right to Sao Bras)
