Geocache Description:

Northeastern Pennsylvania Flash Mob Squirt Gun Fight (copied but never duplicated) featuring, among other things, the Flash Mob glittery coin!

This event is part of the WWFM III - World Wide Flash Mob events all taking place at the same time on May 10, 2008. Check out (visit link) for videos of past flashes. The WWFMs are coordinated geocaching events originally started by Sonny & Sandy of podcacher (visit link) fame. This is the first official Geocaching Flash Mob event in this area and will be taking place at the same time as all the other WWFM events around the world. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will BEGIN EXACTLY at: 1:00 PM EST on Saturday, May 10, 2008 and WILL END EXACTLY 1:15 PM EST. The above coordinates will take you to the designated parking. The additional waypoint below will take you to where the event is being held.

• Prior to the event: Raingear is optional, however, we will have a contest for the most finely decorated trash can liner worn to the event. Your liner should be wearable, fashionable, and downright waterproof. The winner will earn a World Wide Flash Mob III event coin, trackable at gc.com. And no whining when we announce the winner! ;-)

• On the afternoon of the event, get yourself to the above coordinates. Either stay in your vehicle or get out and pretend you are a muggle. Act like you don't know anyone else.

• At 12:59 PM make your way to the designated event coordinates shown below. Keep acting like you know no one.

• 1:00 PM - At exactly 1:00 PM as determined by our GPS clock, we will open an umbrella at the designated coordinates to signify the start of the flash. You may then converge on the area for the official event in your trash can liner raingear or get one from the hood of the truck and quickly design your raingear. Individual team log sheets, name badges, and post-event coordinates will be available for you to take from the hood of the truck. BYOP! Sign individual log sheets and drop them in the geocache container. A regular size geocache container will be available on the hood for you to put in your log sheets. Get your name badge filled in and proudly wear it for the gun fight and the flash photo. Buckets filled with water and loaded squirt guns will be in the back of the truck. Choose a squirt gun. Then mingle and chat with your fellow cachers but do not shoot anyone yet.

• 1:05 PM - The signal to begin the squirt gun fight will sound. No winners will be chosen. The squirting will end at 1:10 PM when we will next:

• 1:10 PM - Assemble for and take group photo. After the photo briefly mingle & chat. Log slips will be pulled for the door prizes (including a World Wide Flash Mob trackable geocoin) and squirt guns may be returned to the bucket or you may keep your weapon.

• 1:14 PM - One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!" Prepare to leave.

• 1:15 PM - LEAVE the area immediately! Log entries sealed & closed. If you missed the signing you missed the event. THE END.

Difficulty rating of 2 reflects the 15 minute allotted time period in which to claim the cache. If you aren't prompt you could miss it. The traffic in this area gets very busy on a Saturday afternoon! Pretend the flash begins at 12:30 just so you can attend the event on time. If your name is not on a log sheet you won't be able to log the event. And there's no sense in crybabying about it. I get enough of that at home ;-)

If everything goes right we will have several people converging on one spot for a 15 minute un-geocaching event and then disappearing. This should be a kick. We'll have info cards available for any muggle that happens upon the flash.

Note:
Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 1:15. Afterwards, participants may chat, meet, eat, trade coins and travel bugs, and plan for a day of caching, but not at the flash mob site. We will be distributing additional coordinates for those of us who will be meeting at another location to geochat and complete a day of caching.

THIS JUST IN (April 21): I just received the new Flash Mob coin and it shore is perty. This will be awarded to one lucky person at the event. (visit link)
