This is part of the World Wide Flash Mob Event III. About this
event: Once again this year there is a World Wide Flash Mob Event
taking place all over the world at the same time.
The World Wide Flash Mob Caching Event. May 10th, 2008
Are you ready to be a part of Geocaching history?!?
The Basic Idea: A "Flash Mob" Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15
minutes long! You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this
time to claim the event.
This event will take place at the Gazebo in Riverview,
NB!!!!
You're heard of MEGA-EVENTS? This is quite the opposite in a
variety of ways.
A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a
public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, then
quickly disperse.
WWFM (World Wide Flash Mob Event): Dozens of events all around the
world...
Thousands of geocachers participating...
Coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers
for a fun and unique event...
These events will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second
longer.
LOCAL RULES
Arrive near the Gazebo prior to the start time and have your signed
"logsheet" ready to place in the event cache container. We will all
meet at EXACTLY 2:00 pm at the designated 'Ground Zero', and the
event will close at exactly 2:15 pm! If you don't drop a log sheet
in the container, you cannot log the event!!!! If you arrive
early, do NOT interact - stay in your car or just act
non-chalant!!! Sometime in that 15 minutes, you HAVE to place
your signed logsheet in the container, AND be present for the group
photo that will be taken at PRECISELY 2:12!
There will be a draw made after everyone has placed their names
into the cache container for an unactivated geocoin (one of ours,
of course!), and if anyone else out there wants to donate something
for a similar draw, feel free to add something to the pot!
Oh and a lunch fitting to the occasion will be provided! Tell your
friends and help promote the event! There may be several muggles
nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?"
(That's part of the fun!)
At 1:59PM I will reach ground zero with the container, and start
the event. Everyone now makes their way to GZ.
2:00 PM - Sign the logbook. Mingle. Trade travel bugs and
coins. Share stories. Brag. Take pictures. Make arrangements to
meet elsewhere, or to find the various caches in the nearby
area.
2:07 PM - The event “banquet” will be served!
2:10 PM - Prize draws
2:12 PM - Assemble for a group photo.
2:14 PM - One minute warning is called "It is now 2:14!"
Prepare to leave.
2:15 PM EXACTLY - Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area
(right at 2:15 PM)! Meet elsewhere if desired. If everything goes
right we will have lots of people coming out of nowhere and
gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event and then
disappearing…This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few
muggle eyebrows!
