The main coordinates listed will bring you to the entrance of the Salt Lake City Cemetery, located in the "Avenues" area of Salt Lake City. The cemetery is open 365 days a year, from dawn until dusk. This is a multi-cache, so be prepared to spend some time here to complete it. The terrain you will traverse is varied, as some areas are level, while others are sloped. Terrain can become more difficult in the wintertime when snow is present.
Utah is a state rich with history, much of it dealing with the settlement of the Salt Lake Valley by Mormon Pioneers and their arrival in 1847. The first burial at the City Cemetery occurred on September 24, 1847, two months after the Pioneers arrival in the Valley.
Within the 250-plus acres which this cemetery encompasses, lie twelve past Prophets/Presidents of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
You are invited to spend some time in the peaceful setting which this cemetery commands, and visit each of the dozen sites, obtaining the information which you will need to locate the final cache. You may also choose to pay your respects at each site, for those of you who may feel so inclined.
The final cache is a camouflaged container, complete with a logsheet, pencil, and a bit of space for trade items. We hope you enjoy your time here, as there is so much history to see.
