timreukauf: This was my first cache hide, created and hidden at the urging of my friend Mike who lived and worked nearby. It had a ten year run and I'm sad to see it go. I've been back to Colorado a couple times since, and this cache made it feel like I never left. Next time I'm back, I'll have to take a hike up to ground zero and drink an O'Dells 90 Shilling to commemorate it's legacy.

Geocache Description:

This cache is at the end of a nice hike up South Table Mountain.

My wife and I were out visiting some friends in Lakewood for the February break and they inspired me to place a cache. The cache is a small tupperware container with some momentos from our trip. Small tradables include: some rubber fish from the aquarium (thus the name of the cache) and some rare coins inspired by our visit to the Mint. I tried to get some snow from Winter Park but it melted. The Aquarium pen is not a trade item. Please leave it in the cache for others to use to sign the log book.

Anyway, the cache is about 30 feet off of the trail once you're at the top of South Table Mountain. You can park at the Visitor's Center for the National Renewable Energy Lab. (Our Lakewood friend works there. You might see him running on the trails.) The hike is about a half mile and you'll go up about 250 vertical feet, so you might want to bring a water bottle. Once you find the cache, make sure you take the time to enjoy the view. To the north, you can see police practicing high speed pursuit and to the south you can see the local herd of deer. This is my first cache, so I hope you enjoy it!
