Geocache Description:

This cache is located about half a mile from the Trans-Labrador Snowmobile trail between Goose Bay and Rigolet. The difficulty level is hard to pin down because it is probably inaccessible in summer unless you have a helicopter or are willing to walk a very long way! In winter it is much easier, since the trail is nearby, and a good snowmobile will get you within 800 to 900 feet of the site from the main trail. Then, snowshoes are a must for the last part.

The cache itself is really easy to spot, a few feet from the actual waypoint, hanging in a tree (see pics). The great thing about this cache is that it is a confluence as well, and can be logged separately on the Degree Confluence website, as well as a geocache!!

The trip to the cache site took us about 4 and a half hours from Goose Bay. We were very lucky with our run, since the trail groomer had gone out over the trail the night before, and indeed we actually caught up with the groomer about 5 miles from where we were to turn off to the cache site. Seems like he had stayed overnight in a cabin along the way, much to our great fortune! The trail is in great shape.

At the time of placement, the cache container was well stocked with various items, including TimBucks, a geocoin of mine, 54 cents (including a Pink Ribbon quarter), a toy alligator, a manual juicer, a flashlight/screwdriver combo tool, and several other items.

Anyone wanting further waypoints and track info can simply contact me via this email and I'll happily supply that data. Force45 and Amaruk are co-owners of this cache, and were a crucial part of getting here. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE ALONE! While it is a great ride, travelling such a long distance anywhere in Labrador alone could be dangerous if anything happened to you or your machine."
