In 1971 Dan Cooper boarded a Boeing 727 with a briefcase and a
note. In mid-flight he passed the note to a stewardess. When she
put it in her pocket without reading it, he leaned over and
instructed her that she’d better read it. It said, “I have a bomb.”
Dan demanded $200,000 and 4 parachutes. After releasing the
passengers the plane was refueled he ordered the flight crew to set
flight for Mexico. In mid-flight Dan lowered the aft door of the
727 and jumped into the darkness carrying his briefcase, note and
money.
Several years later under the alias “Minnie Cooper” Ida Mae Lost
boards a 727, with the intention of hijacking it. Her hijacking
went much the same as Dan’s, however there was one major
difference. She demanded several gold bars from the on-board
shipment as well as 2 parachutes. Knowing she could never jump
carrying the 320 pounds of bricks she pushed them out of the plane
first. Before she herself could follow the bricks, crewmember,
Captain Caching was able to restrain Ida. She was handed over to
the FBI as soon as the plane landed. It was determined that her
plan was to escape by one of several Mini Coopers she had
strategically hidden throughout the forest. Once she landed she
would carry one brick with her, hide the others for her later
return, and make her way to the closest Cooper. It is unclear how
many Coopers she had hidden, but the FBI did locate two.
Captain Geo Caching, the hero who “caught” Minnie, received a
small reward of $1000. However his fascination with the 8 gold
bricks currently worth $3,022,720, never stopped. After years of,
projecting and trajecting calculations, he determined the true
location of the bricks. With his health failing he shared the
knowledge with the rest of the Caching family. He believes the
bricks to be at the listed coordinates.
THE CACHE: You are looking for a 50
cal ammo can with some items and treasures from the heist. For your
safety be careful, there ARE snakes and holes everywhere. If you
are a OCL hunter you will have to cross the creek, but the trail
crosses it not too far from the cache. The cache is only 60-80 feet
