Everyone in the south knows that nothing is "big". It is always "big ol' " - as in "I saw a big ol' spider while out caching today." Or "I got a big ol' knot on my head when I ran into that low-hangin' branch while racing my wife for the FTF." Well, one look and you will agree, this is a "Big Ol' Tree." While my wife and I were walking in the area and trying to get a look at the antebellum home "Arlington" from the street, we noticed this tree across the road, and both of us instantly thought, "That tree needs a cache in it." LOL

The cache is located across the street from Arlington on a strip of wooded ground. Sadly, Arlington is no longer open to the public after it caught fire back in 2002 from an electrical short in the attic. At one time, the home housed over 2000 antique books (one was found to be dated from 1635) as well as much antique furniture. Many items were able to be salvaged, but had to be cleaned of all the soot and grime from the fire in a painstakingly slow process by hand.
