On the western boundary of the Ystradfellte Community, Pwll
Pant-mawr is away from the crowds of waterfall photographers and
cavers to be found elsewhere. From looking at it on the map, you
might expect to find a small, blue lake, about 75 metres wide. The
reality, however, is quite different. This is a wet, marshy place,
and you'd be forgiven for walking straight past the pool without
even noticing it.
The lake is less than a kilometre from the Beacons Way, which
runs right across the Ystradfellte Community after coming down off
Fan Llia.
You will find a number printed on the inside front cover of the
log book. You will need to make a note of this number in order to
find the bonus cache.
