Geocache Description:

This cache is within the Sherando Lake Recreation Area of the George Washington National Forest. Sherando Lake has an entrance fee year round and is offically closed from October through April. It is sometimes still accessible during that time using a self-pay option. If you are good for a long hike, you can also access this cache fee-free year round using the Torry Ridge Trail. See the National Forest web site at THIS LINK for more information, a fee schedule, and area map.

While hiding the other Sherando Lake caches, we noticed how close we were to the 79th meridian west, so we hid a cache on it. The cache is a long Lock & Lock. There is a pull-off large enough for one car nearby or you can park at the dam parking lot take a short walk. Terrain is rocky, so please watch your step!! See the spoiler image for a hint.

*** FTF Congratulations to rbml!! ***
