Geocache Description:

We have often driven past this landmark but never stopped for a closer look. The Mount Torry Furnace was built in 1804, destroyed in the Civil War, rebuilt and then operated until 1884.There is a neat old photo of it before its partial collapse at (visit link)

The Torry Ridge trail begins next to the furnace. There is room for about one car to pull off on each side of the road. Please be careful if you cross the road!

Cache is a black bison tube / keychain vial, and was moved in 2019 due to a tree falling on the previous cache location. DO NOT climb the fence or remove any fence post caps. Cache is not concealed, you just need to look in the right place. Coordinates were jumpy in this spot so feel free to provide yours to assist other finders.
