More Monuments & Memorials Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

out12: Stopped by and retrieved the remains, just an empty ammo can. This cache didn't get a lot of visitors and with the final location compromised, I am archiving it. Hopefully I can salvage the ammo can, which is a bit banged up, as it was a prize I won at one of the Western Mass Warmup events and was decorated by some of the kids at the event. Have plans for an abbreviated version and maybe another new cache in the area of the final from this one. Thanks to all who took the time to visit this one.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates. They will bring you to a busy intersection that you don't need to visit.

Introduction: I had originally started working on this cache just before Dosido's The Palmer History Tour came out. Since that was similar to what I was planning I forgot about it for a while, but driving around Palmer I realized there are a lot more monuments and memorials that go unnoticed, in fact if you have done The Palmer History Tour you drove by many of these. So now you have a reason to stop and notice them.

The Tour: To find this cache you must take a trip around the town of Palmer and it's villages to find sixteen monuments, memorials and plaques that will give you the information to locate the cache. The first coordinates will bring you to waypoint A, a firefighter monument in Oak Knoll Cemetary near Converse Middle School. I have tried to put the points in an order to make a loop with as little driving as possible, but you can start wherever you like and go in any order you choose. There are parking spots nearby most of these or some you may be able to spot as you drive by them. Waypoint J and O do not have parking areas, but you will see places to pull off the road near them. Also, at waypoint P, the road into the park is closed in the winter, but there is a parking area on Old Warren Rd. Below is a table with the information you are looking for.

The Cache: To find the location of the cache you must now take the information you have gathered and do a little arithmetic.

Q=(A-N) V=(O-K)
R=(L-I) W=(H+P)
S=(A-C) X=(K-B)
T=(G-D) Y=(J-M) x 2
U=(N+P) Z=(F-E)-P
Now with the math done fill in the digits:
N 42 QR.STU
W 72 VW.XYZ

There you go, you used the whole alphabet for this one. Cache is a ammo can filled with swag I won at the 2008 Western Mass. Winter Warmup Event. Enjoy your tour!
