This will bring you to alittle off the beaten path area on the back
side of Prospect Bay. Take some time to go the last few yards to
the pier area & get a really nice view of the bay area.
If you look across the water to the right you will see the
Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center area which is a great place to
bird & wildlife watch. You can walk the 4+ miles of trails, see
some of the Raptors that are housed there because they can no
longer survive in the wild or just enjoy a touch a nature.
If you have a small boat or canoe you can launch here at Cabin
Creek Pier (its public) & explore the waters which will also
include being able to float over a man made reef area for the
aquatic life. Part of these reefs were made from recycled rubble
from the Baltimore O's Memorial Stadium.
Take some time to just enjoy this area HOWEVER please remember
that the environment is sensitve. Tread gently leaving nothing
behind but footprints. Remember also that the water & marshy
woods are home not only to great birdlife but also those wonderful
slither friends, some of which ar rather nasty, so watch closely
where you step & DO NOT reach in areas blindly. Be kind to
nature & ENJOY!
