Geocache Description:

This Cache will show you the ruins of the historic Castle of Bütgenbach...

The building of the castle is scheduled back to the year 1230 by "Walmram von Limburg", the monarch of Monschau and Bütgenbach. After there was no more masculine heir, the castle changed to the "Falkenburgs". In the following time, the castle changed the owner very often... In 1689 troups of the french king "Ludwig XIV" destroyed the castle. After some reconstruction untill 1697, it has been habitable again. The french regency from 1795 to 1815 was the end of it... so today you only can see the ruins. Be carefull while seeking the cache !!!

Und nun viel Spaß...
