Geocache Description:

SteelWorker's shelter-Alameda Park

It's time again to get ducky and clean up Alameda Park! The coords. will get you to the parking area for SteelWorker's shelter. When you pull into the lower section-the round shelter will be to your left and ball field to your right. Go over the small bridge. Make a slight left and go up the hill. Make first right into SteelWorker's shelter parking area.

Schedule of activities: Ducky bingo from 12-1:30pm. Eat and mingle from 12-1:30pm. 1:30-3pm park clean up and water way clean up for those with waterproofs. 3-3:30pm ducky games. 3:30-? caching! Weather is calling for 60% rain so be prepared to get wet!

Part of the clean up involves getting into Sullivan Run (the little creek that runs through the park) and cleaning out debris. In years past we've pulled out carpet squares, basketball, pop cans, and other assorted junk. Last year no one had proper boots and the year before the water was running to fast. So if you have knee high waterproof boots-please bring them!

This year the clean up is scheduled for Saturday May 31, 2008 from 12-4pm starting at the SteelWorker's Shelter. If you don't have knee high water proof boots-that's okay! We're also cleaning up both upper and lower park including shelter sites, trails, and playgrounds. Trash bags and high visability vests will be provided. Please bring gloves, water/drinks and some food to share for the pot luck lunch. The park is dog friendly as well as the event. The co-host is a dog!

It's sure to be a duck filled, fun time!

5/29/08-Thanks to Rhelt100 and silverhorse for placing some temp caches and a new perm cache that is sure to be fun!
