Muro di Sormano. The wall
E' una salita leggendaria per gli appassionati di ciclismo.
Nel 1960, 1961 e 1962 fu inserito da Vincenzo Torriani nel percorso del Giro di Lombardia, e molti professionisti furono costretti a scendere di bicicletta e proseguire a piedi.
I numeri: dislivello 280mt, lunghezza circa 1700mt, pendenza media 17% con punte del 25 %. L'arrivo è alla Colma, un bel punto panoramico.
Recentemente è stato risistemato e riasfaltato, lungo la strada ci sono riportati i tempi dei migliori ciclisti del passato che hanno affrontato questa dura salita.
Ho voluto fare una multicache per 'costringere' a percorrere l'intero percorso, ovviamente anche a piedi, preso con calma non presenta difficoltà eccessiva (ho visto gente salire con gli sci a rotelle!!!).
Indicazioni:
Da Asso seguire le indicazione per Nesso, Sormano. Quindi raggiunto Sormano continuare per Piani del Tivano.
Ho dovuto constatare purtroppo che nella zona di partenza hanno vietato il posteggio, chiudendo anche alcuni accessi.
Vi sono due possibilità:
WP1, dopo le ultime case, immediatamente dopo il cartello a dx della carreggiata, c’è uno spiazzo per un paio di auto. A sin c'è la stradina che conduce all'inizio della salita.
Eventualmente si può trovare parcheggio più giù, prima dell'ultimo bivio con le indicazioni per Caglio, Rezzago, continuare dritto per pochi metri fino al WP2, prendere quindi il sentiero che conduce alla partenza del 'Muro di Sormano'.
Recarsi quindi a STEP 1, poco dopo la fontana, inizio salita.
Guardate a terra: X= il primo numero a 3 cifre.
(nel caso il numero non fosse leggibile recarsi allo STEP 1_bis)

STEP 2, circa a metà salita: Y= le prime 3 cifre del tempo del corridore che NON è P…..NERO
Cache finale: N 45° 53,Y-101
E 9° 13,X+108
Attenzione, in inverno in presenza di neve gli STEP potrebbero non essere visibili, eventualmente, se non c’è troppo ghiaccio si potrebbe facilmente scavare per visualizzarli.
(o con una piccozza caso mai!!!)
Dalla Colma si possono raggiungere altre cache, abbastanza vicine: ‘Il Palanzone’ a piedi, mentre in macchina, scendendo per piani del Tivano-Nesso si arriva al cache ‘Scorci sul lago’.

It’s one legend climb for gets passionate of cycling.
In 1960, 1961 and 1962 were inserted from Vincenzo Torriani in the distance of the Turn of Lombardy, and many professionals were forced to come down of bicycle and to continue on foot.
The numbers: unevenness 280mt, length approximately 1700mt, medium slope 17% with tips of 25 %. the arrival is to Colma, a beautiful panoramic point.
Recently it has been fixed, along the road is brought back the times of the best cycling of the past that have faced this hard climb.
I have intentional to make a multicache for 'to force' covering the entire distance, obviously also on foot, taken with calm does not introduce excessive difficulty (I have seen people to go up with the small wheel skis!!!).
Indications:
From Asso follow the indication for Nesso, Sormano. Therefore caught up Sormano to continue for Piani del Tivano. I have had to state unfortunately that in the departure zone they have prohibited the parking, being closed also some accesses.
There are two possibility:
WP1, after the last houses, immediately after the trust to right of the track, is a pit for a pair of cars. To left there is the narrow lane that leads to the beginning of the climb. Eventually the path can more down be found parking, before the last crossroad with the indications for Caglio, Rezzago, be continued straight for little meters until the WP2, be taken therefore that leads to the departure of the ' Wall of Sormano'.
Go to STEP 1, after the source of good water, gone up beginning.
Watched to earth: X = the first number to 3 figures.

STEP 2, approximately to gone up half: Y = the first 3 numbers of the time of the runner who is not P.....NERO

Attention, in winter in snow presence the STEP could not be visible, eventually, if not there is too much ice could easy be dug in order to visualize them. (or with one piccozza case never!!!).
From Colma others cache, enough near can be caught up: ` Il Palanzone' and in car, coming down for plans of the Tivano, Nesso, it is arrived to the cache ` Scorci sul lago'.
