Geocache Description:

Multi Cache using a circular walk of approx. 1.2 miles. Lovely views over Swindon and beyond. Some parts can be very boggy, so good walking boots or wellies are advised.
Not really suited to bikes and not Buggy friendly.

The above Co-ordinates are for parking, the Cache isn't there!
This multi Cache takes you on a lovely circular walk of around 1.2 miles. It starts fairly high up and then drops down towards Elcombe, near Wroughton. There are wonderful views across Swindon and the surrounding area and it is an ideal place to watch wildlife. Please keep dogs on their leads, as you will cross fields which have livestock in them.
The area is known as The Kemmes. This is probably a derivative of the word 'Keme' or 'Kemb' which means Fortress or Stronghold and is sometimes used as a Surname.
Nearby is the ancient battlefield of Ellendune, Where Wroughton Church is sited.
Part of the route also follows an ancient Holloway.

For those interested in Trig Points, one is close by at N51 30.812 W001 48.956
This is S6280 and is just along the road from the parking spot.

Once you have parked up, ignore the footpath nearest you and head for WP1 (just down the farm track from the T-Junction). Once at the Waypoint, answer the following questions and note them as A,B,C.

Q1 How many wood boards can you see on the steps leading to the Kissing Gate? Answer = A

Q2 How many words make up the sign on the old wooden Stile? Answer = B

Now go through the Kissing gate.

Q3 How many Diagonal struts are on the big metal Gate?
Answer = C

Once you have the answers, work out the following which will lead you to the Micro.

N51 31.0A6
W001 4B.7CA

The footpath drops off steeply at one point towards the micro.
The micro is a 35mm film container and contains the Co-ordinates for the final Cache. Please keep to the path and enjoy the views! Remember to replace the micro exactly as found.

Certain parts of the path between the Micro and main Cache can be very boggy, so good walking boots or Wellies are recommended. The main Cache is a small (app. 0.3lt) Screw top container, with a few swaps & Logbook. The area of the main Cache can play havoc with a GPS, so the clue is a good one!

Once you have found the final Cache, continue up the footpath until you reach a road. Turn Left onto the road and refer to the parking Co-ords to get you back to your car.

Happy Caching!
