Geocache Description:

Magnetic nano, bring your own pen, please. Lots of parking on side streets adjacent to main road.

Cache location gives a cracking view of a second world war relic that thousands of folks drive past each and every day but never give a second thought to.Once you locate the cache, look towards the industrial building opposite. Find the flagpole on the roof. See the rusty circular steel construction with the domed roof next to it? Thats a fire watchers shelter that was used to keep an eye on the folks of the Langtoun during the second world war, should the Luftwaffe decide that they needed to drop a couple of Fokkers worth of incendiary bombs in the area.I know there were a lot of the factories in the area that were used in war work. At least one munitions factory and another which manufactured leakproof linings for aircraft fuel tanks as my mother, at various times, worked in both.A firewatcher would take duty in the shelter and, on seeing any incendiary device being dropped, raise a suitable alarm.Bet it was a tad on the cold side with the winds whistling along the Forth estuary!!
