Geocache Description:

Trackables need a place to kick back after a day of hiking or skiing...

Just back in from a day of hiking and snowboarding the San Gabriel backcountry. I've been wanting to place a cache on Mt Waterman for some time now, so today I took one with me to hide near the top.

If you didn't know already, Mt Waterman is a premier Year-Round backcountry destination. On any day there are many outdoor adventurers exploring it's wooded slopes. Some people chose to snowshoe, hike or Mt Bike, others ride the chair lift (when it's open..). Me?, I don't care how i get to the top, I'm there for the ride down.

There are numerous ways of reaching the top of the mountain, so I won't try to tell you how to get there. The easiest way is certainly by way of Lift #1 with a lift pass. Lately, the mountain has been in operation on Winter and Spring Weekends only from about 8:30AM-4:00PM. For further info on Hours and Rates try www.skiwaterman.com

If you are able to ride the lifts, the cache is about 100 feet from the top of Lift #2 and the Terrain and Overall difficult should be lowered significantly.

The container is a large camo jar wedged into a large clump of rocks. Unless the mountain gets more than about 15 feet of snow, the cache will be available year-round!!
The cache is "intended" to hold ONLY TRACKABLE ITEMS!!! You do NOT need to LEAVE something to TAKE something. Please try to resist the urge to empty the contents and walk away, or to leave non-trackable items. In other words grab some trackables that you like and try to leave some others (again, you don't HAVE TO do anything)... It would also be nice if you could sign the Log Book. I have started this one off with 5 trackables... it would be nice to have it full like that all the time!!! I mean, who doesn't like coming across a whole pile of trackables??

Update: Apparently some people DON'T like caches full of TB's, so if you want to consider this cache a "prison", by all means come on up and empty it! This one is worth the hike even if there is no cache at all... there are no rules here... and remember it's just a game right? Have some fun!!

--->>CONGRATS TO "Mountain Lovers" FOR GETTING THIS ONE FIRST IN FINE STYLE!!! CHECK OUT THE PICS!!<<---
